Bryant Motors Pty Ltd is an Australian family owned business, now trading as Diamond Coaches and Diamond Valley Coaches.
The year was 1930 when, Mr. Henry Charles Bryant (also known as Harry) started a daily passenger car service from Maffra to Melbourne and return. He started with a 1930 Chevrolet – along with various other cars, before progressing and finding himself delving into buses at Maffra and obtaining a school run that ran from Maffra to Boisdale and onto Sale.
In the early 1950’s Harry applied for 3 school runs out of Eltham High School coming from Kinglake, Strathewen and Doreen. Having been granted with those 3 school runs, in 1954 Harry started another service which ran from Panton Hill. He started with three 1950-51 Fords and one 1944 KS 5 International and later went onto introducing Bedford’s into his fleet.
The business continued to grow and flourish over time as Harry’s son Les joined the company around 1954. Les worked to obtain a new school run out of St. Helena College which the company still hold today. The bus runs into Eltham High, turned into new schools, and new runs and the company still provide the same service all those years later.
1980 Les’ son Kevin started at the company and is now the proud owner of Diamond Coaches. He has continued the work of Generations before him and works harder than ever to grow this company. Expanding with new school runs, continuing to provide decades of ongoing service to existing schools and strives to get the Diamond Coaches company out there to new clients. He now has his son Dane working here along side him, both driving and assisting in the workshop.
Much has changed over 85+ years of service, and being within the top 5 longest running bus companies in Victoria, we aim to continue to provide a great service to all our customers.
Today Diamond Coaches operate a fleet of modern, and well kept mini buses and coaches. Still a family run business and proudly servicing local schools and the community. We provide clean and well-maintained coaches along with a friendly, reliable service and staff.
The company is now with the third generation of the Bryant family, which we hope will continue on for more generations to come.
